Who Are We, Really?
Let’s explore this beautiful passage from Acts 17:28, “In Him we live and move and have our being,” and delve deeper into its profound meaning.
We often define ourselves by our personalities, our quirks, and our experiences. These are undeniably part of who we are. But the truth goes far beyond the surface. We are not merely flesh and blood; we are spiritual beings, temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). God’s very essence resides within us, a divine spark that connects us to the Creator. Think about it: “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7, KJV). That breath, that spark, is what makes us truly alive.

Shining Our Light
As expressions of the Divine, we are called to let our light shine before others (Matthew 5:16). This isn’t about boasting or pride; it’s about allowing the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that come from the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) to illuminate every aspect of our lives. When we live in alignment with God’s will, our actions, words, and even our thoughts reflect His glory.
Tuning into the Divine Frequency
How do we access this divine power within? Through prayer, through immersing ourselves in His Word, and through cultivating a relationship with the Holy Spirit. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). When we connect with God, we tap into an inexhaustible reservoir of strength, wisdom, and guidance. We discover a sense of purpose and fulfillment that surpasses anything the world can offer. It’s like tuning a radio to the right frequency—suddenly, the static clears, and the music of heaven fills our souls.
The Grand Orchestration
Romans 8:28 assures us that “all things work together for the good of those who love God, who have been called according to His purpose.” This doesn’t mean life will be easy or that we won’t face challenges. But it does mean that even in the midst of difficulties, God is working behind the scenes, orchestrating events for our ultimate benefit and the benefit of those around us. It’s a comforting reminder that we are not alone in this journey.

Agents of Change
As expressions of God in the world, we have the potential to be catalysts for positive change. We can be beacons of hope, offering love, compassion, and forgiveness in a world that desperately needs it. We can be instruments of peace, promoting unity and understanding. We can be voices for justice, standing up for the oppressed and marginalized. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
A New Dawn
Imagine a world where everyone embraced their divine nature, where love triumphed over hate, where kindness reigned supreme. As we align ourselves with God’s will, we contribute to the dawn of that new day. We become part of a movement of transformation, bringing heaven to earth, one act of love, one word of encouragement, one moment of grace at a time. Let us embrace our identity as children of God, living and moving and having our being in Him, and let us shine His light brightly for all the world to see.
Amen.
